AREAS WE SERVE
In order to
do the home check pre-adoption and offer
support post-adoption, we ask that you reside
in our local area. As a general rule, it
is within 50 miles and/or a maximum driving
distance of an hour from Simi Valley (see map
below or if you are unsure, please
Google your location). Adoption
applications can be faxed throughout the week
to (805) 578-2604 - please indicate on your
adoption application if you plan on coming to
adoptions on Saturday to meet the dog in
person and we'll make sure they are there or
contact you otherwise.
We do not engage in 'first come, first served'
- instead it is the BEST furever home that is
chosen that best fits the dog's personality
and needs. Criteria we use are items
such as does this need to be an 'only' dog,
size and disposition of the canine buddies
they will have in your home, does the dog need
a secure fenced-in yard and can you provide
that, will your current pet accept a new small
dog readily, etc. For TLC, the adoption
process does not stop once the dog is placed
but we are available afterwards as a support
resource to have the transition go as smoothly
as possible!
