 AGES IN DOGS:  It's the age-old question, how old is my dog in human years? Many factors contribute to answering this question. A dog's breed, health, nutrition, and weight are certainly contributing factors.  Check out these two calculators to see how old your pooch is ~~~> CLICK

 LIFESTYLES AND DOG BREEDS:  We usually fall in love with dogs based upon their appearance unless we've had personal experiences with their temperament.  All of these breeds on this list are apartment-sized dogs (extra small - 10 pounds or less; small 10 to 25 pounds) - see the full list HERE.

 LIKE WHAT WE DO AT TLC?  If so, please recommend us to friends and families for we have LOTS of great dogs that desperately need great furever homes!  Here's a quick list - please come to adoptions on Saturday between noon and three to meet our dogs and puppies!

• Abby - A young Chihuahua puppy who lost all the hair on top of her head from stress; probable puppymill puppy bought at a petshop - BLOG
• Bella - An 18-month old Terrier/Chi mix who weighs about 16 pounds and is the mother of Nacho, our TLC mascot, Bella doesn't 'show well' at adoptions because she's a bit shy but once she knows you, she couldn't be more loving if she tried! - BLOG
• Charleyboy - A new TLC dog, this male Chihuahua was called "Bug" at the shelter because of the way his eyes 'bug out'... Very quiet, gentle and low maintenance, Charleyboy is between 6 and 7 yrs, is chocolate and tan with a very unique coat - BLOG  
• Chico - A black Papillon/Chihuahua mix who is only 4 months old, Chico has mastered many of the dog obedience commands in a week - he's eager to please and potty trained! - BLOG
• CoCo - A two year old Terrier/Chi mix, CoCo has eyes to die for but relates better to women and needs a quiet, serene and understanding furever home - BLOG
• Daisy - A five year old Cairn Terrier, Daisy went through 9 months of rehabilitation to get to the point she is now - adoptable! - BLOG
• Justice - One of our few puppies right now, she is a daughter of Jayda and was born on 6/28/09 - BLOG
• Kelly - A bait dog in the dogfighting business, Kelly's 4 canines were surgically removed giving her no ability to defend herself; all of her hair has grown back in and she's learned what it is like to live in a canine community without fear! - BLOG
• Kibbles & Bits - A pair of black bandit Chihuahuas, each in the 5-6 pound range, these two are almost identical besides the gender and were victims of the recent Pasadena wildfires - BLOG
• Lulu - Not for the faint of heart, Lulu's life started out tragically when her owner failed to protect her from a vicious dog attack... Her head was nearly ripped off its shoulders and she has almost a complete 'necklace' of sutures around her neck and other assorted gashes... She's a healthy, loving and gorgeous pup born in the middle of June and needs a great furever home of her own! - BLOG
• Penny - Beautiful, smart, loving and TINY, this two year old Chihuahua is as cute as a bug in rug and a hoot to play with and watch! - BLOG
• Reggie - A six month old Chihuahua, Reggie thinks he is really a parrot and prefers to ride around on your shoulder! - BLOG
• Rosey - A two year old Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, Rosey is not available for adoption until her four puppies are weaned... sweetest thing ever! - BLOG
• Scooby - Two year old Chihuahua mix, Scooby's had two months of rehabilitation after going through the shelter system four times and giving up, ready to die... He's happy, quiet and now ready to be adopted by the right person or family - BLOG
• Scudders - Ten year old Chihuahua male, Scudders has a personality all his own despite being 3 pounds - BLOG
• Sunshine - Only a year old, this female backyard breeder never learned until she came to us what being a Chihuahua was all about... Sunshine is VERY loving and sweet, but is usually overlooked at adoptions - BLOG
• Thor - Another one of our few puppies right now, Thor has blue eyes and is VERY TINY... Born on 6/17/09 he will always look like a puppy that stops you in your tracks with those startling and very unique eyes - BLOG
